Diary by Toby Wootton;
"Late
start with local flight delays, landed around 9am. Absolutely
crazy. Got our kit together. Met the porters and set off.
About two and a half hours walk with lunch at a small place
called Surke. Lunch consisted of chips, cheese sarneys and
a sort of coleslaw. Absolutely top notch, best food in Nepal.
Evening
spent at Chutok, passing a few tea lodges. Actually camped
at a tea lodge, in tents with toilets and everything. Harper
went to bed early, completely exhausted so we took him food
and tea in bed. Buddies working OK. Everybody well. Kieran
had a leech in his ear during the night and has got an ear
infection so he's on pills. Marcus is on pills as well for
a bad throat. Went to bed, wet-wipe-washed. They put an extra
roll matt underneath my Thermarest so I was very, very comfy.
A few
minutes thinking about the weeks ahead, thinking of home.
Feels like I've been here a month already. Glad everyones
here at last. And glad we'll be guarded, they take it in turns
to do a three hour shift. That's it."
